My life began when I moved to Miami Beach! I have been fortunate to be at the right place at the right time! So although I had moved here, fresh from Boston University to work for Miami Vice (yes, the one with Don Johnson), it was immediately cancelled, not because of me and my big hair I promise! Fortunately, my mother, Renee (author of the Sexually Tuned Body) and Uncle Andrew (also a prolific writer, adelaplaine.com) were opening a nightclub/theatre called Scratch. I ran the theatre, appropriately named Back Scratch and bartended my way into South Beach Nightlife. The club was a huge hit (theatre not so profitable) and I spent my early years working my way up the TV/Film production ladder and along the way opened my own restaurant Passport Cafe & Market as well as had a series of roving nightclub G-spot, Fort Knox, Sophie’s Sandbar. With my mom and Andew, we started two local magazines, Antenna and the Wire (which also became a TV show). It was there I learned the value of the Press Pass (instant VIP access), Power of the Press (promote those that need a voice), how to sell ads (wear heels) and the value of shameless plugs (help your friends). 

I have been bartending since the tender age of eight, while my mom got ready for her dates. I started professionally at Harvard Club when I was sixteen because it was the fastest way to make a buck. There, I heard every sob story you could imagine and watched nightly as men went home with the wrong girl only to be back the next night complaining about it. For entertainment and in spirit of justice for all, I started coaching women at my bar on how to become a Male Magnet. In South Beach my dating advice became legendary and I decided to share my secrets with the world because I am a goddess and I want peace, love and happiness for all. I am currently residing in Bal Harbour, otherwise known as South Florida’s shopping paradise, with my two daughters and our pooch Parker, and working on the sequel, Babe Magnet.
